Student Body President
DIEGO ROMAN HERNANDEZ

Candidate Statement
Hi everyone! My name is Diego Antonio Roman Hernandez and I am running to be your Student Body President. I was born and raised Puerto Rican and the child of a military veteran and I grew up bouncing from state to state before my dad retired and chose to settle in Florida. I’m in my second year at the SRJC and an Urban Planning major with a focus on mass transit. In my time here I have accumulated tons of leadership experience. It all began with me joining the Political Science club, then with me becoming the president of that same club, and finally, in my current position as the Vice President of Clubs.
Being the Vice President of Clubs I have gained the skills I need to succeed in the role of Student Body President, I have become fluent in using parliamentary procedure within meetings, I learned to help students in a variety of scenarios, and made great, student-based changes on campus. Furthermore, I have also grown comfortable fulfilling the responsibilities of being in student government. I do all that is required of me and more, such as sitting on two committees, attending Student Government weekly, being an avid participant, and encouraging all the students I meet to join SGA.
If all that is too much I want you to take away one thing, I'm here for you. I want to hear all your complaints no matter how small and I want to be able to represent you to the administration and as the face of the JC. So please, if you like what I am about, vote for me for Student Body President. :)
Goals
My goals are to represent the Santa Rosa Junior College student body, better promote the resources the college provides, and create events that encourage more students to get involved on campus.
Executive Vice President of Legislation
SEAN FLAHERTY

Candidate Statement
Howdy y’all!
I am Sean Flaherty, I grew up in San Felipe, Chile, and moved to Santa Rosa when I was 20 years old to pursue a higher education. I am a math and philosophy major, and I am passionate about education.
I believe that students interest are best met when teachers and students work together. I will work alongside students and teachers to ensure that you get the education that you deserve. Right now the SRJC is 10 million dollars in debt, and enrollment is going down year over year. This is making the future of the SRJC is uncertain. You deserve to an education, but in 2-3 years I am not sure that this right will be guaranteed to you.
My plan is to place student government in a position where it has the most leverage to push for favorable policies. I believe this can be done by advocating these policies together with organizations like FACCC (Faculty Association of California’s Community Colleges), and other student lead organizations such as other student governments in our district.
Goals
To push for policies alongside organizations like FACCC (Faculty Association of California’s Community Colleges) that align with SRJC student's interests, examples being: updating this district's COLA (cost of living adjustment) funding to account for inflation and high the costs living; and getting more faculty representation here at the SRJC for better enforcement of the 50% law (the 50% law makes it so that at least 50% of any California community college’s budget has to go towards teaching and classrooms instead of administration); to name a few.
Strengthen the relationships that SRJC has with other community colleges in Sonoma’s district. I plan to do so by reaching out to other student governments in our district, in order to work together to push for updating COLA funding and teacher representation.
Ensuring that both faculty and students remain protected from ICE, and that SRJC remains a safe space for all students.
Vice President of Finance
STELLA SUMMERS

Candidate Statement
Hi, my name is Stella, and I’m a business major currently finishing my first year at the JC. After earning my bachelor’s, I hope to become a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and pursue a career in finance. SRJC has been a place where I’ve grown both academically and personally. I want to contribute by making the funding process at the JC clearer, fairer, and easier for everyone to navigate—especially clubs, which bring so much life and community to our amazing campus!
My leadership experience includes serving on the executive team of the SRJC’s Business and Economics Club, where I'm excited to be stepping into the role of president for the 2026/27 school year. In the wider community, I serve as a member of the Board of Directors for Ceres Community Project in Santa Rosa (a nonprofit that provides organic and medically tailored meals to chronically ill community members). Additionally, I'm a participant in the Ceres Finance Committee, where I’m learning from financial professionals, gaining hands-on experience with budgeting, audits, and financial planning, and have had the opportunity to help educate over 270 youth volunteers regarding Ceres' finances. These roles have taught me how to listen, collaborate, and approach financial decisions with transparency and integrity.
I’m truly excited for the opportunity to support students, strengthen our campus community, and ensure that financial resources are accessible and understandable for everyone. I believe that when students feel empowered to navigate funding, they’re better able to bring their ideas, passions, and projects to life—and I would be honored to help make that possible as your Vice President of Finance.
Goals
• Make the SGA budget easier for students to understand
Through clear, simple updates
• Ensure student voices guide how funds are allocated
• Strengthen communication within SGA so officers stay aligned and
work smoothly together
• Represent students transparently on budget committees and
at Board of Trustees meetings
• Support clubs by keeping the funding process organized, fair, and
Vice President of Clubs, Santa Rosa
SIMONE RAE

Candidate Statement
Hi all, my name is Simone Rae! I’m a sophomore English major at the Junior College, and I am running to be your Vice President of Clubs for the Santa Rosa campus!
My first week at the JC, I noticed a lacking sense of community on campus. This immediately inspired me to start the literary publishing club, Vitae Lampada. In my eyes, campus culture and community are not optional. From experience, I believe clubs are the best way for students to connect with each other and, in doing so, express themselves and their vision of education.
Beyond acting as president of Vitae Lampada for the past two years, founding the Line Dancing Club, and being social media manager for Rotaract Club, I currently have the honor of working with all SRJC clubs as Vice Chair of the Inter-Club Council. As you can tell, clubs are an integral part of my academic life! My club and club-adjacent involvement have shown me that I have the skills and stamina required for VP of Clubs.
I have several goals in mind for my appointment to this position. Firstly, I'd like to work to increase attendance in each club by promoting tabling, inter-classroom club visibility, and generally making clubs more accessible throughout campus. I’d also like to create more marketing opportunities for clubs, cultivate a weekly newspaper with updates for each club, and offer workshops towards the beginning of the year to help new and returning clubs find their footing.
Thank you for considering me as your Vice President of Clubs, for the Santa Rosa campus! If you’re curious, I have an in-depth platform discussing all of my ambitions and qualifications for this position on my instagram, @sr4clubs.
Goals
As it stands, my measurable goals are as follows:
- Increase attendance in each club
- Create more marketing opportunities for clubs throughout campus
- Encourage further club engagement
- Prompt clubs to table on sporadic, not just on club day
- Ensure food for all dietary restrictions during club day
- Make a proposal for clubs to table at Welcome Day
- Cultivate a weekly club newspaper with club updates
- Offer workshops towards the beginning of the year to help clubs find their way
Vice President of Clubs, Petaluma
GABRIEL QUINTANA AGUILAR (Luma Trio Alliance)

Candidate Statement
Hi everyone! My name is Gabriel Quintana Aguilar, and I am a first-generation Latino Business Administration student. I am running to be your Vice President of Clubs for Petaluma.
I believe that finding community is one of the most important aspects of life. My interactions with clubs at SRJC have been nothing but positive, and I want to do everything possible to provide that same experience for others. SRJC creates a space where we can explore our interests and build community through clubs.
I want to be actively involved in facilitating and expanding student collaboration and connection. I will support all current clubs to the best of my ability, create opportunities for interclub collaboration, and make it easier for students to start new clubs and form their own communities. I aim to be a strong voice for clubs because they represent the diverse people and interests of our student body.
Goals
I have just one goal: to do everything I can to make the club experience better. That looks different for every single club, there is no one size fits all but there are tools I can use to help each club. Some clubs might need help with exposure and increased attendance, that can be assisted through social media engagement and increased tabling opportunities. New clubs might need assistance with setup. I can contribute through a deep understanding of how clubs operate and how they are set up. No matter what a club needs, the goal is the same: Make every club a better community.
Vice President of Student Life, Santa Rosa
CAMILLA TRAHAN

Candidate Statement
Hey everyone! My name is Camilla Trahan, and I’m an incoming freshman running for Vice President of Student Life at the Santa Rosa campus. Throughout high school, I’ve noticed that many students come to campus, attend class, and leave without ever feeling truly connected to the school’s environment and culture. I believe college shouldn’t be a place that students just push through. It should be a place where students can easily integrate and enjoy themselves outside of the academic aspects.
As Vice President of Student Life, I want to create events that are both engaging and accessible to all students. For example, I would like to work with other officers to introduce spirit weeks where students can get creative and dress up accordingly with daily themes, as well as themed events like cultural nights, movie nights, and hangouts during finals to help students blow off some steam. I exhibit a strong focus on student input–I would ensure that every student gets the opportunity to suggest ideas for things they would like to see for future events. I’d also work closely with student clubs and organizations to expand event variety and encourage more student involvement. By focusing on inclusivity and strong promotion, I will create events that are guaranteed to grab students’ attention and interest them.
Through my experience with leadership and giving back to my community, I have developed skills in organization and teamwork. I am someone who values listening to others and making sure everyone’s voice is heard. If elected, I will work to ensure that student life reflects the interests and needs of the entire student body. I want every student at Santa Rosa Junior College to feel like they belong rather than just attend. Please vote for me, as I’d be honored to represent you all.
Goals
My goals for this position are to create a welcoming and supportive environment where students feel comfortable getting involved and building connections. I want to increase engagement by organizing meaningful and enjoyable events, while also improving communication so members stay informed and included. I hope to grow the club’s presence on campus through collaboration with other organizations and participation in school events. I also plan to encourage feedback from members so their ideas guide what we do. Overall, I want the club to be a space where students feel valued, connected, and confident.
